Rotate PDF Pages

Rotate single pages or a whole PDF in your browser and save the result. Fix sideways scans in a few clicks. Free, no sign-up, and nothing is uploaded.

Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

Rotate PDF turns pages of a PDF by 90°, 180° or 270° and saves the result as a new file. Turn one sideways scan, flip an upside-down page, or rotate the whole document at once. It works in your browser, and the file is never uploaded.

How to rotate a PDF

  1. Click Choose a PDF or drop a PDF onto the page. A preview of every page appears.
  2. Click a page to turn it 90° clockwise. Click again to keep turning it. The caption shows the angle, for example “Page 3 · 180°”.
  3. To turn every page at once, use Rotate all left or Rotate all right. Reset puts all pages back to how they were.
  4. Click Save rotated PDF. The file is saved with -rotated added to its name, such as scan-rotated.pdf.

To start again with a different file, click Open another PDF.

How many clicks you need

The page looks Do this
Lying on its right side (top points left) Click once (90° clockwise)
Upside down Click twice (180°)
Lying on its left side (top points right) Click three times, or use Rotate all left for the whole file
Every page is sideways the same way Rotate all left or Rotate all right

Tips

  • Rotate before you merge. If one file in a set has sideways pages, fix it here and then join the files with Merge PDF.
  • Pages that were already rotated are turned further from their current orientation. The preview shows what you will get.
  • Mixed documents are fine. You can turn only the landscape tables in a portrait report and leave the rest alone.

Common problems

  • “This PDF is password-protected”: the file needs a password to open. Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, then rotate the copy.
  • Previews appear slowly: thumbnails are drawn as you scroll. On long files, wait a moment before judging which pages need turning.
  • The file is large after scanning: rotation does not change the size much. Use Compress PDF afterwards if a portal has a size limit.
  • Only a few pages are needed: take them out first with Split PDF.

Private by design

All work happens on your device. Your PDFs are never sent to a server. You can check this yourself: see how it works.

Frequently asked questions

Is the rotation saved permanently?

Yes. The new orientation is written into the PDF you download, so it opens the right way in any viewer, on any device. Rotating in a viewer only changes how you see it until you close the file.

Does rotating reduce the quality?

No. Only the page's orientation setting changes. Text, images and fonts are not re-compressed or turned into images, so the pages look exactly as before.

Can I rotate just one page?

Yes. Click only the page you want to turn. Each click turns it 90° clockwise, so click twice for an upside-down page and three times to turn it left.

Why does it say I need to click the pages first?

Nothing has been rotated yet. Click one or more pages, or use Rotate all left or Rotate all right, then click Save rotated PDF.

Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Remove the password with Unlock PDF first, using the password you know, then rotate the unlocked copy.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened, rotated and saved by your own browser. It never leaves your device, so it is safe for contracts, statements and ID scans.
