This page opens Edit PDF with White-out already selected. Drag a box over text, a number, a stamp or a stray mark, and it is covered with a box in the page’s own background colour. Then type the corrected words on top if you need to. It all runs in your browser, so the PDF is not uploaded.
White out part of a PDF
Click Choose a PDF and pick your file. Type the password if it asks for one.
Drag a box over what you want to hide. Draw several boxes if needed.
To write something new in the cleared space, choose Add text, click and type.
Click Save edited PDF to download name-edited.pdf.

White-out or redaction?
White-out is for how the page looks. It does not delete what is underneath, so it is not the right choice for passwords, account numbers or personal details you must remove from a file you send to others. For that, use Redact PDF, which flattens the page so the covered content is gone for good.

It is filled with the page's own background colour, sampled where you draw it. On cream paper, tinted forms or grey scans that blends in better than plain white, which would show as a bright patch.
Can I type on top of the white-out?
Yes. Switch to Add text, click inside the cleared area and type. Pick a size and font close to the surrounding text so the change looks natural.
Is white-out the same as redaction?
No. White-out covers content on the page, but the original text can still be in the file and may be copied out with a text tool. To remove names, numbers or other sensitive details for good, use Redact PDF.
Does it work on scanned documents?
Yes. White-out works on any page, including scans and photos saved as PDF, because it simply draws a filled box on top.
Can I move or undo a white-out box?
Yes. Use Select to drag a box or resize it from its corner, Delete to remove it, and Undo to step back.
