Online File Viewer

Open PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ZIP, email, images, video, 3D and CAD files in your browser. Free, no sign-up, and files never leave your device.

Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

File Viewer lets you open almost any file directly in your browser, without installing Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, an archive manager or a 3D program. Drop a file onto the page and it is displayed instantly.

How to use it

  1. Click Choose a file or drag a file onto the drop area.
  2. The file is detected automatically and rendered in the viewer.
  3. Use the toolbar to zoom, rotate, search, print, go full screen or download.

What the quality levels mean:

  • Full: shown exactly as the file is, the same as in its own app.
  • Good: the file opens and all its content is readable, but the layout may differ a little from Microsoft Office or LibreOffice, for example with unusual fonts, complex tables, merged cells or text boxes. To check the exact layout before printing or sending, open it in the original app.
  • Basic: you can see the content (the model, the map, the drawing), with fewer viewing options than in specialist software.
  • Browse contents: you see the list of files inside the archive and can preview or download them one by one.

Private by design

Most online viewers upload your file to their servers first. This one does not: parsing happens on your own device, so contracts, invoices and personal documents stay private. You can check this yourself: see how it works.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Files are read and rendered locally by JavaScript in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers, so it also works for confidential documents.

Which file types can I open?

PDF, Word (doc, docx, rtf, odt), Excel (xls, xlsx, csv, ods), PowerPoint (ppt, pptx, odp), EPUB, XPS, OFD, archives (zip, tar, gz; to extract RAR and 7z use Archive Extractor), email (eml, mbox; Outlook .msg files do not open yet), images including HEIC and TIFF, audio, video, code and text files, draw.io, Excalidraw, XMind, 3D models (glTF, OBJ, STL, FBX) and GIS files (GeoJSON, KML, GPX, Shapefile).

Will Office documents look exactly like in Microsoft Office?

Simple and medium-complexity documents usually look very close. Complex layouts, unusual fonts or embedded objects may render differently because everything is reconstructed in the browser without Microsoft Office.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no hard limit, but very large files depend on your device memory. Files of a few hundred megabytes may be slow on phones.

Do I need to install anything or create an account?

No. The viewer works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS.
