Remove Text from a Photo erases writing from a real photograph, such as a caption, a date stamp, a label or words on a sign, and fills the space with what would plausibly be behind it. The background is rebuilt by an AI model that runs in your browser, so the photo never leaves your device.
What works well
| Text on the photo | Result |
|---|---|
| Captions or date stamps added on top | Good: the picture behind is rebuilt from its surroundings |
| Words on a plain wall, sky or product | Good |
| Small labels on a busy scene | Usually good; check the edges |
| Large headlines across faces or detailed objects | The rebuilt area may look soft |
Tips
- Remove one line at a time and check each result; switch Background fill if one looks off.
- For large text over important detail, crop the photo first so the AI has more relevant context around the text.
- To replace the words instead of only erasing them, use Edit Text in a Photo.
