Excel to PDF Converter

Convert Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx) to PDF in your browser. Fonts, colours, borders, number formats and merged cells kept, text selectable. Free, no upload.

Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

Excel to PDF converts a spreadsheet (.xlsx) into a PDF that looks the same on every device. Cell fonts, colours, borders, number formats and merged cells are kept, and the text in the PDF is real, selectable text. The conversion runs in your browser, so your workbook is never uploaded.

How to convert Excel to PDF

  1. Click Choose an Excel file or drop an .xlsx file on the page.
  2. Tick the Sheets you want and set Page width, Orientation, Paper and Gridlines.
  3. Click Convert to PDF. The PDF is saved with the same name as your workbook.

Page options

  • Page width: Fit all columns on one page width scales a wide sheet so every column fits across the page. Actual size keeps the original size, and columns that do not fit continue on further pages.
  • Orientation and paper: As set in the file uses the workbook’s own page setup. Override it with Portrait or Landscape, and A4 or US Letter.
  • Gridlines: follow the file’s print setting, or show or hide them for every sheet.

Tips

  • Wide sheet? Choose Landscape together with Fit all columns on one page width so the text stays larger.
  • Only some of the rows? Hide the rows you do not need in Excel, save, then convert. Hidden rows and columns are left out.
  • Need the data the other way round? PDF to Excel turns tables in a PDF back into a spreadsheet. For Word documents, use Word to PDF.
  • Several files into one PDF? Convert each workbook, then join them with Merge PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?

No. The workbook is read and converted in your browser, on your device. Budgets, invoices and payroll sheets never leave it.

Will the PDF look like my spreadsheet?

Cell fonts, fill colours, borders, alignment, merged cells, column widths and row heights are kept, and numbers appear as formatted in Excel: currency, dates and percentages included. Calibri, Arial and other Office fonts are replaced by fonts with the same letter widths, so text fits the cells the same way.

How do I fit a wide sheet on one page?

Leave Page width on Fit all columns on one page width. The sheet is scaled down so every column fits across the page, and long sheets continue on more pages. Choose Actual size to keep the original size; columns that do not fit continue on extra pages.

Are charts and pictures included?

No. Only the cells are converted: values, text and their formatting. Charts, pictures and shapes are not drawn in the PDF. To keep a chart, save the PDF from Excel itself or paste the chart into a document.

Does it work with .xls, .ods or CSV files?

It converts .xlsx, the format Excel has used since 2007, which Google Sheets, Numbers and LibreOffice can also save. Open an .xls or .ods file in one of them and save it as .xlsx first. For a CSV, convert it with CSV to Excel first.

Can I convert only some sheets?

Yes. Every sheet in the workbook is listed with a check box. Hidden sheets are listed but unticked; tick them if you want them in the PDF. Each sheet starts on a new page.
