Word to PDF converts a Word document (.docx) into a PDF that looks the same on every device. The conversion runs in your browser: fonts, tables, pictures, lists, headers, footers and page numbers are kept, and the text in the PDF is real, selectable text. Your document is never uploaded.
How to convert Word to PDF
- Click Choose a Word document or drop a .docx file on the page.
- Wait a moment while the pages are laid out.
- Click Download PDF.
Why convert Word to PDF
| You want to | Why PDF |
|---|---|
| Send a CV or a cover letter | Looks the same for every recruiter, can’t be edited by accident |
| Submit a form, report or thesis | Many portals accept only PDF |
| Print a document elsewhere | Fonts and layout are fixed |
| Share a contract | One file that opens on any phone or computer |
Fonts
The usual Office fonts are replaced by open fonts with exactly the same letter widths, so lines and pages break where Word breaks them:
| In your document | In the PDF |
|---|---|
| Calibri | Carlito |
| Cambria | Caladea |
| Arial | Arimo |
| Times New Roman | Tinos |
| Courier New | Cousine |
| Chinese, Japanese, Korean fonts | Noto Sans / Noto Serif CJK |
Before you convert
Check the length of your text with the Word Counter if the document has a word limit. To go the other way, PDF to Word turns a PDF back into an editable document.
E-books convert too: EPUB to PDF lays out a DRM-free EPUB on printable pages. To check what changed between two versions of a document, use Compare PDF or Text Compare.
Private by design
