Convert XLSX to PDF

Convert an XLSX file to PDF in your browser, from Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or LibreOffice. Choose sheets, fit to page width. Free, nothing uploaded.

Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

To convert an XLSX file to PDF, drop it on this page, choose the sheets and click Convert to PDF. It works with XLSX files saved by Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers and LibreOffice, and you do not need any of them installed. The conversion runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.

XLSX to PDF in three steps

  1. Click Choose an Excel file and pick the .xlsx file.
  2. Tick the sheets to include. Hidden sheets are listed but unticked.
  3. Click Convert to PDF. The PDF keeps the file’s name, such as report.pdf.

Where your XLSX comes from

App How to get an .xlsx

Apple Numbers File, Export To, Excel
LibreOffice Calc File, Save As, Excel 2007-365 (.xlsx)

Good to know

  • The PDF shows the values saved in the file. If a sheet uses formulas, open and save it once in your spreadsheet app so the results are current.
  • Charts, pictures and shapes are not included; the cells and their formatting are.
  • Wide tables: keep Fit all columns on one page width and choose Landscape for larger text.
  • Got a CSV instead? Turn it into XLSX first with CSV to Excel.

Frequently asked questions

What is an XLSX file?

XLSX is the spreadsheet format Excel has used since 2007. Google Sheets (File, Download, Microsoft Excel), Apple Numbers (File, Export To, Excel) and LibreOffice Calc can all save it.

Do I need Excel installed?

No. The XLSX file is read and converted by your browser, so it works on a Chromebook, a Mac without Office, a phone or a tablet.

Can I convert an XLS file?

Not directly. Old .xls files use a different format. Open the file in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice, save it as .xlsx and convert that.

Are formulas kept?

The PDF shows the results of the formulas as they were last calculated and saved in the file, not the formulas themselves. A PDF cannot recalculate.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The XLSX file stays on your device and the PDF is made in your browser.
