It opens with Square 1:1 and a blurred background, the look you see on Instagram and Facebook posts: the whole video stays in the middle and a soft, enlarged copy fills the empty space. Blur, bars or crop

  • Blurred background looks finished and keeps the whole picture.
  • Black or white bars suit the feed’s dark or light mode, or a clean, minimal style.
  • Crop to fill has no border but cuts off the sides of a landscape video. To choose which part stays, use Crop Video with the Square 1:1 shape.

How do I make a video square without cropping it?

Choose the video. The page opens with Square 1:1 and Blurred background selected, so the whole picture stays visible and a soft copy of it fills the top and bottom (or the sides). Click Resize video and download.

What size is a square Instagram video?

1080×1080 pixels is the usual size. Choose 1080p under Size; Keep the resolution uses the shorter side of your video, for example 1080 for a 1920×1080 clip.

Can I crop it to a square instead?

Yes. Choose Nothing: crop to fill to cut the edges off evenly, or use Crop Video to drag the square over the part you want to keep.
