Change Text in a Screenshot lets you fix the words in a screenshot of an app, website or dashboard without opening an image editor. Click a line of text, type the new version, and download the image.
Typical uses
| Use | Example |
|---|---|
| Fix a typo before sharing | A misspelt button label in a design review |
| Hide or anonymise details | Replace a real name or email with a placeholder |
| Prepare documentation | Update a menu name that changed in a new release |
| Make clean mockups | Replace lorem ipsum with real copy |
To hide something completely instead, select the line and use Remove text, which leaves only the background.
Tips
- Screenshots taken at 100% zoom give the sharpest result; scaled-down screenshots have blurry text that is harder to match.
- After editing, compare the new text with a neighbouring line to check the size; adjust Size by half a pixel if needed.
- If a line was not detected, use Add text box and drag over it.
Use it responsibly
Good uses: fixing a typo in a screenshot for a help article, updating a version number or a date in your own app screenshots, translating the text of an interface for documentation, hiding a personal name before you share an image. Do not use it to change screenshots of chats, payments, bank or order confirmations, reviews or anything shown as evidence.
