Replace a word or a whole line of text in an image: the old text is erased and the new text is drawn in a matching font. In your browser, nothing uploaded.
Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works
Edit text
Replace Text in Image swaps the words in a picture for new ones. The tool finds each line of text, erases the old words from the background and draws your text in its place, using the closest matching font, size and colour.

Getting a clean result
Text on a plain colour or smooth gradient gives the best result. Busy photos and textures can leave a visible patch; the tool tells you when that is likely.
If the automatic font looks wrong, try the other fonts in the list; serif text often matches Merriweather or Playfair Display.
Use Align: Centre for text centred in a button or banner, so it stays centred when the length changes.
Do not use this tool to change documents you are not allowed to change, such as receipts, IDs or official records.
Use it responsibly
Replace text in images you made or are allowed to edit: banners, slides, mockups, social graphics and templates. Do not replace names, dates or amounts on invoices, receipts, contracts, IDs or certificates.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change just one word in a line?
Lines are detected as a whole. Click the line and edit it in the text field; type the whole line with the one word changed, and the rest keeps the same font, size and colour.
Can I replace text with something longer?
Yes. Longer text simply runs further to the right (or both ways if you align it to the centre). Lower the size or the letter spacing if it needs to fit a fixed space, for example a button.
Will the new text look exactly like the old one?
It is drawn in the closest of eight common fonts, at the measured size and colour. Images that use those or similar fonts match closely; distinctive brand or decorative fonts will look different.
Is the image uploaded?
No. Erasing and redrawing happen in your browser and the image stays on your device.
Can I replace the name or amount on a document?
Not on documents such as invoices, receipts, contracts, IDs or certificates. Changing them is forgery. Use this tool for your own graphics, mockups, slides and screenshots.
