Enhance Photo Quality uses an AI upscaler to turn a small or low-resolution photo into a larger, crisper one. It is useful for old phone pictures, images saved from a chat app, or photos that look pixelated when you zoom in. It runs in your browser and the photo is never uploaded.
How to enhance a photo
- Click Choose an image and pick the photo.
- Set Enlarge to 2× for a photo that is already medium-sized, or 4× for a small one.
- Choose Best under Quality if your browser supports it, then click Upscale.
- Drag the Compare slider to see the difference, then pick Save as and click Download.
What it helps with, and what it does not
| Photo problem | Result |
|---|---|
| Small, low-resolution photo | Larger with clean edges. This is what it does best |
| Slightly soft photo | Looks cleaner and a little sharper |
| Strong blur or camera shake | Larger, but still blurry |
| Tiny faces or unreadable text | Stay unrecognisable. The AI cannot know what was there |
| Dark or faded colours | Not changed |
Tips
- Use the original file, not a screenshot of it. Each round of resizing and recompression loses detail.
- Look at faces closely at 100% zoom. The AI can make skin and eyes look smoother or slightly different from the real person.
- After enhancing, use Crop Image to frame the photo, or Remove Background to cut out the subject.
