This page opens with Enlarge set to 4×: drop a picture and the AI makes it four times wider and taller, adding sharp edges and plausible detail. It is the scale the AI model works at, so small images benefit the most. Everything runs in your browser and the picture is never uploaded.
Upscale 4x in three steps
- Click Choose an image and pick a small photo, icon, drawing or screenshot.
- Keep 4×, choose Best or Fast under Quality, and click Upscale.
- Check the result with the Compare slider, then click Download. The file is saved as, for example,
icon-4x.png.
When 4x makes sense
| Starting picture | Result |
|---|---|
| Thumbnail or small web image (around 500 px) | About 2000 px, big enough for a full-width page |
| Old phone photo (around 1 megapixel) | About 16 megapixels, enough for a larger print |
| Game sprite, icon or pixel-art-sized drawing | Clean lines at a size you can edit |
| Photo already 6 megapixels or more | Over the size cap, so reduced first. Use 2× instead |
Tips
- Crop away what you do not need before upscaling with Crop Image. A smaller input stays under the cap and finishes faster.
- 4x files are large. Save as JPG or WebP, or run the result through Compress Image.
- The AI cannot add detail that is not in the picture: tiny faces and writing stay unreadable.
