This page opens with Quality set to Fast, the model made for people: drop a portrait, selfie or headshot and the background behind the person is removed, hair included. Keep it transparent or put a colour or another picture behind them. It works in any modern browser, on phones too, and the photo is never uploaded.
Remove a portrait background
- Click Choose an image and pick the photo. HEIC photos from an iPhone work too.
- Wait a moment, then compare Original and Result.
- Pick a Background: transparent, white, black, a colour or your own image.
- Choose PNG to keep transparency, or JPG for a smaller file, and click Download.

Getting a clean edge
- A sharp photo with the person clearly apart from the background works best.
- If parts of clothing or a held object are cut off, switch Quality to Best, which works on any subject.
- Make the picture square or smaller with Crop Image or Resize Image.
