Scan a QR Code from an Image

Read a QR code from a picture or screenshot without a second phone. Paste with Ctrl+V, choose or drop a file. Works in your browser, nothing uploaded.

Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

Scan a QR code that is already in a picture: a screenshot of a ticket, a photo of a poster, a QR code in an e-mail or a PDF page you saved as an image. Choose the file, drop it, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V, and the content is shown at once. It runs in your browser and the image is never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I scan a QR code that is on my own phone screen?

Take a screenshot, open this page in the phone's browser and choose the screenshot from your photos. The code is read from the image, so you do not need a second device.

Can I paste a screenshot instead of saving it?

Yes. On a computer, copy or capture the screenshot, then press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac) on this page.

The QR code is small or at an angle. Will it still work?

Usually. The scanner searches the whole image, including small, rotated and inverted codes. Very blurry or damaged codes may not be readable; crop closer to the code and try again.

Is the picture uploaded?

No. It is read in your browser, on your device. That matters for screenshots of tickets, boarding passes or Wi-Fi codes.
