PDF to Google Slides

Turn a PDF into a presentation you can import into Google Slides, with editable text on the original page design. Free, in your browser, no upload.

Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

Google Slides cannot open a PDF as a presentation, but it imports PowerPoint files. This page converts your PDF into a .pptx file with one slide per page, ready to import into Google Slides. The page design stays in place and the text comes back as editable text boxes. The conversion runs in your browser.

Tips

  • Mixed page sizes? Slides use the first page’s size; other pages are fitted inside it.
  • Scanned PDF? Pages are read with text recognition, so the text is still editable. For Korean, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Greek, Tamil or Telugu, pick the Text language first.
  • Only a few pages? Extract them with Split PDF before converting, and the import is quicker.
  • The same .pptx also opens in PowerPoint and Keynote. See PDF to PowerPoint for how the conversion works.

Frequently asked questions

Can Google Slides open a PDF directly?

No. Google Slides imports presentations, not PDFs. Convert the PDF to a .pptx file here, then import that file into Google Slides.

How do I import the file into Google Slides?

Open Google Slides, create a blank presentation, then choose File, Import slides, Upload and pick the .pptx. You can import all slides or only the ones you need. Or upload the .pptx to Google Drive and open it with Google Slides.

Is the text editable in Google Slides?

Yes, with Editable text on the original page design. Each paragraph is a text box you can click and change. Pictures and shapes stay in place as the slide background.

Why do fonts look slightly different in Google Slides?

Fonts from the PDF are mapped to common fonts, and Google Slides may swap any font it does not have for a similar one. Check headings and adjust the font if needed.

Is my PDF uploaded to this site?

No. The conversion runs in your browser. You only upload the finished .pptx to Google yourself, when you import it.
