Flip Video mirrors a video from left to right, like looking in a mirror. Use it to fix selfie and webcam videos where text reads backwards, to make a mirrored dance or workout tutorial, or for a creative effect. You can turn the video by 90° or 180° at the same time. The video is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
How to flip a video
- Choose a video: MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV.
- Mirror (flip left to right) is already ticked, with No turn selected.
- To flip and turn at once, pick 90° right, 90° left or 180° as well.
- Check the preview of the result.
- Click Rotate video and download.
Flip, turn or both
| You want | Choose |
|---|---|
| Mirror image, left and right swapped | No turn + Mirror |
| Upside down | 180°, no mirror |
| Reflection, top and bottom swapped | 180° + Mirror |
| Sideways and mirrored | 90° right or left + Mirror |
When to mirror a video
- Selfie and webcam videos: many front cameras show and sometimes save a mirrored picture. Signs, shirts and book covers then read backwards. Flipping fixes it.
- Dance and fitness tutorials: a mirrored teacher moves the same side as you, so learners can follow without swapping left and right in their head.
- Recording through a mirror, such as a hair or make-up tutorial, where everything is reversed.
- Matching shots: flip a clip so a person walks or looks in the same direction as the next scene.
Good to know
Mirroring changes every frame, so the video is always re-encoded, even for MP4 and MOV. That takes a little longer than a plain rotation, and the result plays the right way in every app. Videos recorded in HEVC on an iPhone cannot be read in some browsers; if one will not open, try a recent Chrome or Edge, or Safari on a Mac.

To only turn a video without mirroring, see Rotate Video. Cut the clip with the Video Cutter, or crop it to a new shape with Crop Video.
