Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

Make many barcodes at once

One value per line (up to 1,000). Each becomes a PNG file in a ZIP, named after its value.

This page opens with Barcode type set to UPC-A, the 12-digit barcode on retail products in the US and Canada. Type the 11 digits of your product number, the tool adds the check digit and shows the barcode with its numbers, and you download it as PNG, SVG or JPG. Nothing is uploaded.

Make a UPC barcode

  1. Type 11 digits under Data, such as 03600029145.
  2. The check digit is added, giving 036000291452. If you type 12 digits and the last one is wrong, you see the correct digit.
  3. Set Size and Bar height, keep Show the numbers under the bars on, and download.

UPC-A, UPC-E and EAN-13

Type Digits Where it is used
UPC-A 12 Most products in the US and Canada
UPC-E 8 Small packs such as drinks cans and cosmetics
EAN-13 13 Retail products in most other countries; see EAN-13 Barcode Generator

Scanners in shops normally read all three.

  • SVG is the file to send to a printer or packaging designer: it stays sharp at any size.
  • PNG works for labels printed from a computer, with Transparent background if the label is coloured.
  • For a product range, paste up to 1,000 numbers into Make many barcodes at once and download a ZIP of PNG files.

Always print a test label and scan it before ordering packaging.

Frequently asked questions

How many digits is a UPC code?

UPC-A has 12 digits. Type the first 11 and the tool adds the check digit, or type all 12 and it verifies the last one.

UPC-A or UPC-E?

UPC-A is the full-size code used on most products in the US and Canada. UPC-E is a shorter 8-digit form for small packs where a full code does not fit. Choose UPC-E under Barcode type: it takes 7 digits starting with 0 or 1, and the check digit is added for you.

Can I sell on Amazon or in stores with this barcode?

Only with a UPC number that is registered to your company through GS1 US (or GS1 Canada). Stores and marketplaces check the number against the GS1 register. This tool draws the barcode; it does not issue numbers.

Are my product numbers uploaded?

No. The barcode is drawn in your browser, on your device.
