This page opens with Barcode type set to Data Matrix, the small square 2D code used on electronic components, medicine and medical device packaging, parts labels and documents. Type text or a number, adjust the size and colours, and download PNG, SVG or JPG. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Make a Data Matrix code
- Type the content under Data: a part number, serial number, batch code or short text.
- Pick a Size from 1× to 8×. Larger sizes give bigger cells for printing.
- Set Bars and Background colours or a Transparent background, then download.
Where Data Matrix is used
| Field | Typical content |
|---|---|
| Electronics and parts | Part and serial numbers on very small labels |
| Healthcare | Product codes, batch numbers and expiry dates on packs |
| Manufacturing | Tracking parts through production |
| Documents and mail | Reference numbers on letters and forms |
Some industries use a specific data layout inside the code (for example GS1 Data Matrix for healthcare products). Check the format your customer or regulator asks for and type the content exactly as specified.
Many codes at once
Paste up to 1,000 values, one per line, into Make many barcodes at once and download a ZIP with one PNG per value.
Tips
- Use SVG for print so the cells stay square and sharp.
- Keep a quiet margin around the code and use dark cells on a light background.
- Test with QR Code Scanner before printing, or use QR Code Generator if people will scan with a phone camera.
