WebP to PNG Converter

Convert WebP images to PNG in your browser and keep the transparent background. Lossless, batch convert, free, and nothing is uploaded.

Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

WebP to PNG turns WebP images into PNG files, right in your browser, keeping transparency and every pixel. It is the right choice for logos, stickers, icons and screenshots that you want to edit or use in apps that do not read WebP.

Choosing the output format

The WebP image is Convert to Result
A logo, icon or sticker with transparency PNG Transparency kept, lossless
A screenshot or graphic with text PNG Sharp edges, lossless
A photo JPG Much smaller file, see WebP to JPG

PNG is already selected on this page, and only WebP files can be added. Animated WebP files are converted to a still image of their first frame.

Common reasons to convert

  • Stickers. WhatsApp and Telegram stickers are stored as WebP with a transparent background. As PNG they can be used in slides, documents, design tools and other chat apps.
  • Logos saved from a website. Many sites serve their logo as WebP. A PNG copy works in Word, PowerPoint, Keynote and older editors and keeps the cut-out edges.
  • Editing. You can open, change and save a PNG many times without it getting worse, which is not true of JPG.
  • Apps that do not accept WebP, such as some print services, label makers and older design software.

What to expect

WebP PNG
Transparency Yes Yes, kept
File size Small Often 2–5× larger
Opens in older apps Not always Almost everywhere
Animation Possible Not kept (first frame only)

The PNG is larger because PNG compression is less efficient than WebP, not because anything was added. If size matters, Compress PNG can reduce it a lot, often with no visible change for logos and stickers.

Tips

  • Check the edges on a dark and a light background after converting a logo. Soft, semi-transparent edges are kept exactly as they were in the WebP.
  • Small source, small result. A 512 × 512 sticker stays 512 × 512. For a large print, look for a bigger original or a vector logo (SVG).

The WebP files are converted in your browser and the PNGs are saved to your device, so nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Is the transparent background kept?

Yes. PNG supports transparency, so logos, stickers and cut-out images keep their transparent areas.

Why is the PNG larger than the WebP?

PNG is lossless and less efficient than WebP, so the same image takes more space. The quality does not change in the conversion.

When should I choose PNG over JPG?

Choose PNG for logos, icons, screenshots and anything with transparency or sharp text. Choose WebP to JPG for photos, where JPG files are much smaller.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser and the PNG files are saved to your device.

Can I convert WhatsApp or Telegram stickers?

Yes, if you have the sticker as a .webp file. Static stickers keep their transparent background in the PNG. Animated stickers become a still image of their first frame.

Does the conversion lose quality?

No. PNG stores the decoded pixels exactly. Any loss that happened when the WebP was created stays, but nothing new is added.
