Replace Audio in Video

Replace the sound of a video with another audio file in your browser. The picture is not re-encoded, so quality stays the same. Free, nothing uploaded.

Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

Replace Audio in Video swaps a video’s soundtrack for another audio file: a song, a voice-over, a dubbed track or a cleaned-up recording. It opens with Replace it with the music selected, so the original sound is dropped. The picture is copied without re-encoding: the quality is unchanged and even a long video is done in seconds.

Common reasons to replace the sound

Problem New audio
Wind, traffic or crowd noise Music, or the sound cleaned with Noise Reduction
A take with a mistake in the voice A re-recorded voice-over from the Voice Recorder
Music you cannot use on a platform A track you have the rights to
A video in the wrong language A dubbed audio track

Tips

  • To line the new sound up, type a start time such as 0:01.5. Play the result and adjust if it is early or late.
  • Untick Repeat the music to the end for voices and dubbed tracks; keep it for short music loops.
  • To only remove the sound, without adding any, use Mute Video.

Frequently asked questions

How do I replace the audio in a video?

Choose the video and the new audio file. The page opens with Replace it with the music selected, so the original sound is removed and the new audio becomes the soundtrack. Click Add music and download.

Will the video still be in sync?

The new audio starts at 0:00 unless you type another start time, for example 0:02.5 to move it later. The picture is not changed or re-timed.

Can I use a voice recording or a dubbed track?

Yes. Any audio file works: a song, a voice-over, a dubbed or cleaned-up track. Untick Repeat the music to the end so a voice is not looped.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device.
