Thai OCR

Copy Thai text from screenshots, photos and scans in your browser, including tone marks. Free, no sign-up, the image never leaves your device.

Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. How it works

Thai OCR reads Thai script, with its vowels and tone marks above and below the line, in screenshots, photos and scans, and gives it back as text you can copy. English words and numbers in the same image are read too. Everything runs in your browser, so the image stays on your device.

What people copy

From Why
A LINE chat screenshot Quote or translate the message
A Thai menu or sign Paste it into a translator
A receipt Copy prices and item names
A document scan Get text you can edit

Tips

  • Tone marks are small; crop close to the text and avoid blurry photos.
  • Thai has no spaces between words, so the text comes back as written, in phrases.
  • Need the text of a scanned PDF? Use PDF to Text with the same language.

Frequently asked questions

Does it read Thai text mixed with English?

Yes. The Thai model also knows English letters and numbers, so mixed lines come back in one piece.

Is anything downloaded?

The first time, the recognition engine and the Thai model (about 18 MB in total) are downloaded and then cached by your browser. Your image is never uploaded.

Can I use it for other languages?

Yes. Pick another option under Text language, or Auto for English, European languages, Chinese and Japanese. Your choice is remembered.

How accurate is it?

Clean screenshots and printed text are read well. Check names, numbers and amounts before you rely on them; faint photos and handwriting give more mistakes.

Can it read a scanned Thai PDF?

Yes. Use PDF to Text and choose Thai under Text language: every scanned page is read, and you can download the text or a searchable PDF.
